A denture is a removable dental appliance that replaces missing teeth and surrounding tissue, designed to resemble natural teeth and enhance your smile. There are two types: complete and partial dentures. Complete dentures are for when all teeth are missing, while partial dentures fill gaps and prevent remaining teeth from shifting. Complete dentures can be conventional, made after gums heal (4-6 weeks), or immediate, placed right after teeth removal to avoid a toothless period. Dentures are durable and can last many years but may need to be remade, repaired, or adjusted due to normal wear.

  • Complete Denture – Loss of all teeth in an arch
  • Partial Denture – Loss of several teeth in an arch
  • Enhancing smile and facial tissues
  • Improving chewing, speech, and digestion

Getting dentures involves several appointments over a few weeks. Accurate impressions and measurements are taken to create your custom denture. Multiple try-ins may be needed to ensure proper shape, color, and fit. At the final appointment, the dentist adjusts and places the denture for a natural and comfortable fit. Initially, you may experience increased saliva, soreness, and difficulty with speech and chewing, but this will improve as you adjust. You'll receive care instructions, and proper cleaning, good oral hygiene, and regular dental visits will help maintain your dentures.
